Hi and welcome to my website. My name is JoAnn but I am often called The Phoenix. I work as a Human Resources Director in order to fund my love affair with beads and jewelry.
I began my love affair with jewelry as a little girl and I still have some of my first pieces of jewelry.
In 1999 my job took me to Phoenix where I met a lovely lady who introduced me to beaded amulet bags. I fell in love!!!!! I began making and giving these bags as gifts – and suddenly people were asking to buy my pieces.
Since then I have taken numerous classes, dabbled in most forms of beading, done chain maille, made glass beads, copper enameled beads, PMC, taught, done shows, worked in a major bead store, shown in Art galleries in Wisconsin and Minnesota.
My affair has now taken me to working with Turquoise. While I still design and produce pieces using other materials, my real love is working with Turquoise. It reminds me daily of our links with the past and the native people who preceded most of us here. As I wait for each piece to talk to me the calming feeling produced by just holding a piece of turquoise soothes me.
